Q: "What about use with a mailbox mounted in curbside bricks as is common in suburbs?"

Answer: We checked with Robert Hanna,the manufacturer. This is his response: "We have never had anyone tell us that the Model 1200 failed to work with mailboxes mounted inside a brick surrounding. It really is no difference between using the Mail Alert in this mounting and mounting it on the outside of a brick wall of a home."
